Yoga for Military and First Responders

Cedar & Sage Wellness Studio owners, Sabrina and Tobi are very honored to bring this series of free classes to our military and first responder personnel. This class is very dear to their hearts as Sabrina is married to a firefighter who also happens to be Tobi’s brother. Tobi’s father is a retired fire chief and his father before that was in the police force. They have seen first hand what these men and women do day in and day out to keep our community safe and the mental effects these actions can have on family and everyday life. Military and First Responders experience conditions and situations that can be very traumatic on a daily basis. Studies have shown how meditation, breath work and yoga can help the nervous system to alleviate stress and anxiety when done on a regular basis. One of our instructors, Melissa Grisi, is a licensed clinical social worker who has been trained in trauma informed yoga. She had recently incorporated this practice into her services to our local military base in 29 Palms as a means to assist those suffering from PTSD and other forms of trauma and stress. All of the wonderful instructors at Cedar & Sage will be volunteering their time to teach one of these classes. We are all very grateful and honored for the services these men and women provide for our community and can’t wait to share our special classes with you.
